Behind the Scenes: How we do it.
Lots of people are helping to solve the world’s water crisis. Splash employs locals living in Asia and Africa. Our teams partner with schools, hospitals and street shelters that serve kids—and secure clean water for them at the point where they use it: kitchens, drinking fountains and the like. With Splash interventions en force, kids in poverty (in the most-crowded cities) can now enjoy water that’s as clean as the water you enjoy.
We hire local talent.
Kids should never be afraid of the water they drink. Yet the poorest of kids in the largest of cities have reason to be fearful—because contaminated water makes them sick. Yet luckily, kids bounce back fast, get healthier, and share water hygiene habits with their families when they have clean, safe water to drink and wash with at school.
For more than 280,000 kids living in poverty in some of the world’s largest cities—Splash turns dirty water sources filled with bacteria and viruses into clean, safe, flowing water. It’s not by magic. It takes work and local cooperation. By 2020, our water filtration systems will be providing clean and safe water to 1 million kids each day.
How many ways do you stay clean, every day? We know it’s important to wash our hands, brush our teeth, and use handkerchiefs—but we first had to learn how. Splash teaches kids how washing with soap and safe water can keep families healthy!
