Splash Social Enterprises (SSE) has developed our own drinking and handwashing stations that are durable, child-appropriate, and promote positive handwashing and drinking behaviors. We sell stations along with training to governments, non-profits, and multilateral organizations at fair prices for distribution in schools, healthcare facilities, and other low-resource, institutional settings. We have four manufacturing hubs in East Africa and Asia, with stations available for purchase to organizations around the world.
SSE is part of the Splash International family and was established in 2018 to pursue an exciting new social business opportunity where Splash International saw a gap in the market. 50% of WASH programs fail after 2–5 years (UNICEF). This is a problem SSE wants to help solve by providing recyclable, water conserving stations and behavior change solutions that last for generations.
Our Theory of Change
Leveraging over a decade of experience in Asia and Africa, Splash designed the stations for our own programs and to help other groups improve their projects around the globe. Our stations offer an innovative, practical, and lasting way to improve health and hygiene outcomes, while ensuring that the dollars invested in the WASH sector can create long-term social benefits for children, families, and communities, globally.
Human-Centered Design
Now more than ever, it’s critical to provide access to clean water and handwashing facilities to reduce the spread of disease. But access alone often is not enough. These patent-protected stations were uniquely designed to appeal to children and encourage use, while being easy for adults to install, clean, and maintain. Our latest version 3 offers water conserving features, foot operation, along with tamper- and theft-proof taps.

How It Works
Splash Social Enterprises seeks to deliver impact in a sustainable way. We have developed an innovative business model that leverages grants, impact investments, and sales revenue to scale impact. Our model allows us to leverage diversified funding streams, while supporting the unified mission of the Splash International family.
